The songs Billy creates vary from up beat ones about guys getting into trouble, with the law, women, liqour, social norms, etc. to heart felt anti-war songs, or songs that remenice about a lost friend/time and place. There’s a simplicity to his music, yet it comes across as deep and resounding.

Billy can usually be found playing at bars and coffee houses around Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. He plays many solo shows though you will see him playing with various musicians from the area from time to time. Folks like Bo-Barry Schwartz, a talented guitar virtuoso: Karl Anderson rocking on the upright or electric bass; Jillian Rae Martin a phenominal fiddle player and singer; and Greg Tiburzi, a fellow songwriter from the region who’s also a hell of a drummer.
